Meet Solomon Ejigu Desta/GSBM-Founder
God gave me this vision during a time when poverty had reached a critical level in the Horn of Africa. Countless lives were at risk because of war, famine, and economic hardship. During a visit to Ethiopia, I witnessed many children begging for their daily bread on the streets of the capital city, Addis Ababa.
As I traveled through the city, I prayed for God’s love and mercy to be upon these children. I reflected on the challenges and suffering they faced each day. The sight deeply touched my heart, and I was overwhelmed with emotion. From that moment, my wife and I began praying earnestly about what God would have us do and how we could help support some of these children. We sought His direction for nearly four years, waiting patiently to understand His will and guidance. In His perfect timing, God inspired my heart and led me to establish Good Samaritan Ministry (GSM) to reach out to those in need. As Psalm 68:5 says, “God is a Father to the fatherless, a defender of
widows.” By His grace, He has enabled us to serve Him by serving others and sharing His love with those who are hurting. To God be all the glory!

OUR VISION
Our ministry is committed to serving orphaned children and elderly people in Ethiopia and throughout East Africa. In obedience to the biblical call to “remember the poor” (Galatians 2:10), we seek to provide practical assistance, encouragement, and hope to vulnerable individuals and communities. We are also dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with unreached people groups, demonstrating God’s love through both compassionate service and the message of salvation. Through these efforts, we seek to glorify God and make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to embody the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing food, clothing, and vital support to orphaned children and the elderly in Ethiopia and East Africa. Inspired by the Good Samaritan, we dedicate ourselves to serving the vulnerable disadvantaged. We organize outreach programs at least three times a year and during major public holidays, delivering hope and essential resources to those in need. Alongside meeting physical needs, we aim to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, demonstrating kindness and generosity through our actions as we expand our ministry to address education, health, and community development.
WHAT WE DO
We fulfill our mission through hands-on, tri-annual outreach programs. By bridging the gap between immediate physical relief and eternal spiritual truth, we deliver vital humanitarian aid, medical support, and essential supplies while faithfully teaching the Word of God and planting seeds of lasting faith.
